That's right; eBay doesn't offer postage for USPS First Class letters and flats. Just put a stamp on it.

I came here to post the same question. I have lower-value paper items that I would like to sell at low prices either offering free shipping or a fixed shipping cost at USPS "large envelope" rate. The item will qualify for that rate as long as the packaging is not rigid or irregular. These are lower value items I am OK sending between two pieces of heavier (but still not rigid) card stock. But eBay will not let me print a label at that rate. Is it because there is no tracking? I saw the "put a stamp on it" suggestion in an earlier reply, but I need tracking for protection.
Any ideas? If I print a label direct from a USPS account will there be tracking?

Yes, probably the lack of tracking is why eBay has chosen to not enable sellers to purchase postage for letters or flats.
USPS does not offer tracking for letters or flats. Tracking (formerly known as Delivery Confirmation) is automatically included at no additional charge fo all package postage (both online and retail).
USPS Click N Ship doesn't offer shipping labels for letters or flats, either.

FYI, shipping with stamps is a quick way to lose your Top Rated Seller status.

i buy my cats collar bandanas from this lady on ebay who makes them by hand. ive been buying from her for 5 years now, & she sends me random funny post cards or holiday cards first class mail, with stamps. untracked! ive never missed one. but if you want to track an item, its only a few cents at the post office to add a tracking number onto a first class envelope.

*the postal clerk told me it was called certified mail. its a receipt of delivery.

certificate of mailing cost $1.65
all it would be good for is satisfaction of knowing that it was delivered. As far as I know, it is not something that eBay counts as "tracking".

TRS is not a big deal for some sellers.

correction. a certificate of mailing is only proof that something was mailed to an address.
It has no #, and is not proof that anything was ever delivered.

those are two separate services. i bought a tracking number just the other month, & frequently do this. im specifically speaking about certified mail. it does also have receipt of delivery, its just a tracking number & a different service & comes with a tracking number. yes you cannot track the "in between" but it is to as well as from & i get a receipt with the number.🤗✌🏻🌺
"A certificate of mailing only proves that mail was shipped on a certain date, but it does not prove or confirm that the mail was delivered. Certified mail provides proof that the mail was shipped AND delivered."

the only other way ive tracked an envelope was actually purchasing a media mail label from pirateship.com
media mail, now comes with a full tracking number.
*as long as the item in question conforms to the media mail service restrictions. ive sent letters with free media mail materials.
