Shipping label shows delivered right after purchasing label

Purchased USPS Shipping label from eBay today and a few minutes later I received an INR from buyer.. Item shows it was delivered a day before the item was even purchased. Tracking shows item going to a complexly different state. I havn't even shipped the item yet due to it being a weekend, simply just purchased the label.

Because the label shows delivered, I am unable to void/cancel the label. Phone calls to customer service havn't been helpful as they dont seem to understand the issue... They simply state "the item shows delivered, your fine. Is there anything else I can help you with?"

Buyer is irate and based on previous feedback to others I'm taking a negative for this.. Buyer most likely feels its a scam, and I don't blame them.

I've purchased a new shipping label, but now I'm out double the shipping and customer service doesn't see this as an issue.

I can't be the only one, right? HELP

Yes, this is happening to a lot of people today. Sorry whoever you talked to on the phone wasn't helpful, the one I talked to was able to void the label and refund it for me. Maybe try calling again to get someone else (I used the call me back feature) and told them "I just purchased a label but was given an already used one"

There are issues with eBay USPS labels today. This type of problem has happened before and it's usually resolved within a day or two tops. See if labels are back to normal on Monday and if they are not you can go to pirateship.com and get the same rates for all USPS services.

To void a shipping label purchased through eBay, go to this page, find the order and select Cancel from the Actions drop-down. The cancel option is available for 28 days.

It takes between 2-4 weeks to receive a refund on an unused, voided label as the carrier wants to make sure the label isn't used. You'll see the refund on your original source of payment (eBay funds, bank, credit card, etc) and the funds will appear in your account without an email notification.

If the system will not let you void because there's already tracking you can contact eBay CS and have them process the cancellation, OR you can wait it out as eBay will (if history is any indication) most likely take care of sellers and automatically apply label credits for impacted transactions. I'm sure eBay reps will post here on Monday with an update - they're not usually around on weekends.

I had the same issue. At the time of your call with an Ebay agent they probably weren't aware of the problem. I received a reference number so a technician will look at it. I am pretty sure this issue will become a bigger problem and Ebay will be aware of it. Did you tell the buyer that there is a technical issue with the tracking and not to worry? I was told to click "Mark as Shipped" and ship the item which the buyer was informed. If the buyer leaves a negative feedback for this you can appeal it.

There are numerous posts on this issue and people have contacted eBay.

The best thing we can do on the forum is Thumbs up and consolidate findings on a main thread so the conversation isn't fractured, and so people are more likely to find the more definitive post.

This earlier thread has the most traction, so please thumbs up that post and stay tuned for updates.

Hopefully we'll get an eBay moderator to see that thread and give more information.

Did you happen to mail the item that had the duplicated tracking number? I mailed mine, buyer said never received. But can't track my package because the other item (Which had the same number) was already delivered. Ughhh
