Shipping label created but item still hasn’t shipped

I purchased an almost $200 item on Dec. 23 after sending a general question to the seller. I didn’t get a response, but I got a tracking number later that day (which I thought was weird.. if they saw that I purchased the item and then they printed a shipping label and added tracking, surely they would’ve seen the question I sent as well?) I also thought it was weird that eBay said the item would be shipped by USPS priority mail, but the tracking number is for FedEx. Anyway, the estimated delivery date is Dec. 30 which is tomorrow and the tracking STILL says ‘shipping information received’ which would mean that FedEx hasn’t even RECEIVED the item right? I wasn’t expecting it by the estimated date anyway because of delays and what not, but it’s the fact that the item hasn’t moved at all in a week and the seller is ignoring me. Before buying the item, I checked out the seller’s reviews/feedback and everything seemed legit, they even have a top rated plus badge. But I’m starting to get really suspicious of a scam because I’ve sent them 6 messages over the course of a week since my purchase & even texted the number listed for the seller (which I really didn’t want to have to do. seems sort of intrusive). I’ve gotten NO RESPONSE. I understand there are delays and most sellers aren’t constantly checking eBay notifications and that things happen, but the seller has since then added several new listings so it’s not like they haven’t been active on eBay or something. The least they could do is respond to me after taking my money right? I’m starting to think I won’t get my item at all. Should I be worried about opening a case with eBay?

Does seem a little fishy, but all you can do is wait until the 1st and file an INR case. That should get the sellers attention. You might as well stop trying to contact him too. I'm wondering if the shipping notice/tracking number wasn't just a way to keep you from cancelling the sale.

Anyway, file the case and don't let the seller try to delay it.
