Shipping insurance with USPS instead of ShipCover

I have not shipped anything on eBay for some time as I had to take a break.   Now that I am getting back, I am noticing and confused by what is going on with additional shipping insurance.  I use USPS exclusively, and mostly Priority Mail.  However, I used to be able to add additional shipping insurance which was provided by USPS itself.  But now, it appears that I am being forced by eBay to use a 3rd service provider for additional insurance, which I do not want to use.  Is this correct, or is there a way around this?  I’m guessing eBay gets a cut of ShipCover purchases.  Thank you for your help.

You can choose whichever insurance option you want when you buy the label.

Anything $100 or less has included insurance with USPS Ground Advantage & Priority so there's no need to purchase extra.

If you purchase over and above for a higher valued item, you have a choice of USPS or ShipCover.

If you don't see a choice, you may need to click the link on the top right of your label page to see advanced shipping options.

If you want better insurance for less checkout ShipSaver.  This is an app that connects directly to ebay.
