Each listing must show the true "Ship from" location.

Since it's illegal in your country to use Pay Pal to receive money, Pay Pal will catch you soon and freeze your account.

Have a great day.

I think what you are not understanding is, that it is not eBay or managed payments or paypal that makes it illegal for you to accept foreign funds into any account.

It is the law of your country, and if you do not get advice from your government as to how you can legally accept funds you will possibly be fined or worse, I have no idea what the penalty would be, so please check it before you go ahead.

Shipping from multiple locations

Seller is based in Sri Lanka and a member in USA.

I was under the impression that buyers register on their local eBay platform and in order to sell they must provide a local return address and a Credit card, PayPal or Bank account.

If and when invited / told to move to manage payments they are then asked for their SSN and other information that is unique to them.

In my view it is wrong to call these sellers as they are drop shippers / listers from parts of the world that are currently not able to sell on eBay and they have found a way round the issue by registering in USA and I assume they are using addresses that are strictly speaking not theirs and are provided to them by some friend or distant relative who lives in USA or some USA resident who is selling this service.

I am not sure whether what these sellers and more importantly their facilitator's are doing is even legal and I am not going to enter into a debate about this as frankly I don't care.

These people are just pulling listings from anywhere and everywhere and are new sellers with no stock, no expenses and as their outlay is only time which they must have a lot of and they must believe they can earn a fortune by doing this.

I can only see disaster in the making as I feel that these business models can not and will not meet expectations of genuine buyers and for scammers they must be a God send.

My fear is that genuine buyers who receive less than satisfactory service will leave the platform as difference in price between bricks & mortar stores and online sellers is narrowing all the time due to increases in fees, postage costs including returns, fraudulent claims and numerous other factors that go into seller setting his price.

All platforms want to grow and in case of Sri Lanka hope must be that sellers come on board selling goods they own and showcase goods produced in Sri Lanka and alongside this provide excellent customer service.

I have travelled and done business with large scale Sri Lankan manufacturers more than 20 years ago and I have the utmost respect for these extremely well mannered, polite citizens of this beautiful country and again my fear is that their reputation will be tarnished by these ill informed so called sellers.
