So this is the first time I've noticed eBay taking the money for shipping before I've even printed a label. Also when I do ship an item it usually comes out of another account and not my funds on eBay. I guess my question is if the shipping ends up being a little cheaper than what the buyer paid what happens to the extra funds? It says my pending funds is $0 even though they took $18 for the shipping that I haven't even done yet. It's this something new they're starting?

Perhaps your credit card on file expired? Perhaps you changed the setting to take the funds out of your funds? Look at the fees. It should tell you exactly what each fee is for. Did you maybe pay for extras like bold print or promoted listings. Ebay takes at least 13.25% of the shipping total as a fee. This fee on the shipping has been there for at least 10 years.

They don't take out shipping unless you print a label as there is no guarantee that you will print the label on eBay. They do take out your fvf right away which depending on the item can be 12% and up of the total amount that the buyer paid.

Look at your Order Details and it will explain how the Buyers money was distributed.
On the form it will show the information below as well as other information about the sale. The Order Earnings is what will be for you. If you did not buy shipping thru eBay then the shipping cost will not be deducted.

The lowest fee is now 13.25 % plus the 30 cents.

The op has a store. If it is a basic store or higher, fees are less than that.

Figured it out. They charged me shipping for an item that was shipped FedEx 2 weeks prior instead of charging it when the item was shipped.

This happens to me often when I use eBay to purchase their international shipping. They allow me to purchase their label but I am not charged for it until after it has been processed thru their shipping center. This could be three weeks or so. I have already forgotten about the label by then so I am caught off guard until I figure it out.
