I sold a nice pair of shoes and the buyer filed a claim with ebay the same day she received them, saying they were not wide enough and stiff. The shoes were practically new and only worn a few times they were not even broke in. My description had the size 6 W and all other information. I will refund once I receive them back, but should I refund the shipping cost. She should have worn them for awhile before making such a quick decision on the shoes and if not happy then email me about returning.

I did not see that you sold any shoes under this user ID.  I wanted to see your return policy.

If your return policy states No Returns, and the buyer states "does not fit" or some other buyer's remorse reason, you can specify that the buyer pays return shipping, and when the shoes are delivered back to you, you have 2 business days to refund original item cost + shipping.

If you have a 30 day return policy, that means you accept returns for any reason, so yes, you pay return shipping as well.

Actually, it is my understanding that if the OP has a No Returns policy she doesn't have to accept a remorse return at all.  If she has any sort of return policy that stipulates that the buyer pays the return shipping, the buyer has to pay the return shipping and the seller can deduct the original shipping from the refund unless the listing was for free shipping.  This is for a remorse return only, of  course.

The OP's return policy is irrelevant in the event of a Not As Described return.  Those require the seller to pay the return shipping and the full payment amount.  Unless, of course, the seller wants to simply refund and let the buyer keep the item.  I don't recommend that.

If you're lucky, they'll want a regular return and they pay return shipping, then you could refund item price only.

If they file an INAD, you'll be paying return shipping and refunding full price.

Have a great day.
