I got charged a fee today from a item I shipped over a month ago..it said under paid fee...does that mean I put in the wrong shipping weight?

Yes, since you paid through paypal the usps charged your account for the difference in postage insted of charging your customer.

It means that you underpaid for your label and it was detected by USPS's APV system. Possible reasons include paying for a weight lower than the actual package weight, or the actual package dimensions were larger than one cubic foot so you had to pay the "dimensional weight". Or using Priority Mail packaging but with a label for another service, etc.

That is often the reason.
To add to the other posts here are more possibilities.
There are instances of APV errors.
There are instances of USPS Priority boxes being printed with the wrong bar code.

But why now? It was a month or so ago

Does not mean you underpaid. Sometimes the PO clearing house will incorrectly figure the postage. This happened to me for 3 items I sent using priority flat rate boxes. The PO notified paypal to give them back money based on straight priority mailings so they charged me almost $100. Go back into your Ebay labels and check for errors. If wrong there is a phone number to call at the PO. When this happens the PO actually photos the postal label and would be able to check for errors. Important, thePO wants you to first correspond via email but they never answer. Hunt for the phone number and call and you can get an instant response as all the photos are online. Good Luck.

How can you see if its wrong?

Did you get a receipt? If not there's really no way to check. If you do have one you can look and see if the weight matches what you paid. I've had it happen to be both ways. I've gotten credits as well as debits. The best thing to do if you plan on selling often is get a scale & make sure your package measurements are correct. Plus always get your packages scanned.

That happened to me a few months ago When I called the USPS they said that normally they charge the customer postage due if it is a shortage
They run it thru some sort of scanner to see if it is in the system with Ebay~ then they have to process the payment thru Ebay as they foot the bill..She said it takes time for all that and it is better than having the buyer pay for it as they would be upset of course True that! Hope this helps!

Yeah my fault so I wouldn't want the buyer to pay
