I bought from Ebay multiple times before but 1st time I try selling on here.
So I sold an item and received paypal invoice and shipped to the listed address. A few days later, I checked shipment tracking and it was (just) delivered. However as a new seller, payment is withheld for verification and I understand that. But when I happened to click on "learn more" it told me zip code was different. Since I copy-pasted the address and checked it multiple times before shipping, I quickly checked the address I shipped to and found it was 2 miles away from the altered address now in the invoice. I check the paypal invoice and found it altered as well. Shipping receiver name is the same btw.
How is this even possible? the shipping address I shipped to is no where in paypal and ebay?! I even saved the old shipping address in my shipping contact list just in case and it was 100% altered. I definitely didn't alter it on purpose. I couldn't even come up with either addresses even if I wanted to. And it was not a typing error since both street name and zip code changed. Yet they are only 2 mile apart
So now the question is am I in trouble? Was I supposed to screenshot the address to prevent getting this trouble? Is it possible that this is a scam?
PS: while neither ebay nor the seller said anything yet, I don't want to take action late and lose the item.
