Shipping Preferences

So I went into shipping preferences, changed shipping locations to include Alaska/Hawaii/Puerto Rico - then selected the check box "apply to all listings" and saved - didn't take, did it again, said it updated - but it didn't - I then went into a few listings to check and they didn't take, had to change them manually on the listings themselfs...so then I said hell with that - went into bulk editor and changed it for all listings that way.

Has anyone else had this experience with their Shipping Preferences settings? Telling them "listings were updated" but didn't actually do anything then having to go do it manually for all listings you want to change? What's the point of having the Preferences page to do it if it doesn't actually work?

Same thing here. Updated countries won't save to preferences. I don't see a way to do it in bulk, so I guess if I want to update I have to do it one by one.

well nice to know it wasn't just me then... you can do it in bulk, took me a few min to figure out though...but without going into bulk editor can't say fully how i did it without looking at the edit options again... it's one of the shipping options though in the edit menu. What I did was checked all the listings I wanted to update the shipping preferences for, then went into bulk editor (with fingers crossed that it wouldn't spazz out on me like it always does with error messages), selected all listings and selected Edit, one of the shipping options, and updated. I then had to go into a few listings I needed to adjust shipping for as I do free shipping but the cost for priority is a little more to those so I had to had a small charge for the difference (like $2)

Did you expect it to be done instantly?  That doesn't happen.  It updated the information, the new preference was 'registered' but to actually have it function and appear in each listing can take hours to days.

that's the whole point of it, updating in real time. Funny though cause you say it is suppose to take hours to days, and that it won't be done instantly, but if you do it through bulk editor or manually it is done instantly.  Reminds me of the issues with promotional sales, in the past doing markdown would take hours (or days) to go through, they fixed that and it takes about 5 min for them to go live on listings now.

It's been five days, how many days should it take?

Really? Interesting.  I mean I could see it taking several hours or so with indexing and all that, but up to a month is a tad long.

It's been ages since I've made any changes to ship prefs. Thanks!
