Shipping Postcards with Tracking

Hi,

Can any seller tell me if Ebay will accept tracking information from a site like Lettertrack to ship post cards? I would like to list postcards but does not seem viable if the only option is first class mail rate of 2.60$ . A company like Lettertrack gives you tracking details for letter size envelopes. Thanks.

Lettertrack doesn't offer a delivery scan, so even if Ebay were to accept it, you'd be in the same boat INRwise - no delivery scan. You DO get a regular USPS "tracking number" that you could enter, but it won't help you.

All Lettertrack does is log the scans as the letter goes along through the mailstream. Since it's not delivery confirmation, there's no delivery scan. It is tracking only.  If you want DC you have to pay for it.

I have used Lettertrack before, and it does work well to track your letter along the way. You can follow your letter all the way to the destination Post Office.

No, eBay does not accept tracking from alternative tracking systems.

Currently the minimum postage for a First Class package ranges from $2.66 to $3.09 depending on the buyer's location. Many eBay sellers of postcards and other lower value items are successful without using tracking; they accept the small risk of fake "Item not received" claims.

I sell postcards. For cards greater than $20 I ship free as a package with tracking. For cards less than $20, I ship as a letter and take the risk if something happens to the letter. I always ship letters with cardstock stiffeners next to the postcard. Things have worked out and 98% of the buyers are honest.
