I recently found a new shipping option for trading cards called "eBay Standard Envelope for Trading Cards up to $20," so I started using that for the cards I sell, but when one of them sells, I don't get that option when printing the label, only the normal First Class mail options. After reading the requirements, I should be able to qualify for it. The cards are all under $15 so I don't want to keep spending a third of that on just the shipping label. I would appreciate any help with this.

I have only converted one of my card listings to the new 75 cent standard envelope and just listed two new auctions. I pre-selected the "ebay standard envelope" shipping up front. If you don't set it up from the start or don't convert an existing auction I don't know what happens after a sale, yet. Like I wrote I have only listed three total so far.

Your cards are listed under the "Toys & hobbies" category. I suspect that this new shipping option is only available for items sold in the Sports cards category.

Good point. I double checked my listings and they have always been in the Sports Memorabilia category.
The OP needs to double check on that. I had no problem getting the 75 cent rate.

I think they are listed under Toys & Hobbies because they are Pokémon cards selling for up to $500 each. I wouldn't mess with the small savings in trying to trick ebay by using the Sports trading cards rate on expensive collectable kids cards. Plus the limit is $20. If you list any card over $20 or if it sells for over $20 you won't get the 75 cent rate in the first place.

As long as the card sold meets the criteria (e.g. sold in proper category, under $20, etc.) it will show up as an option regardless of the shipping method you chose to use when you listed the item.
I just sold a card from a listing I created a few weeks ago (before eBay rolled out the new shipping method) which had First Class shipping as the method to be used. When I went to "Print Shipping Label," I clicked to choose (or maybe its "compare" other options) and was able to choose the new Standard Envelope method.
