Last week my USPS carrier did not take my packages from my mailbox....they literally just threw my mail on top of them. I called and explained that it is important that they are picked up and scanned on the day they are mailed. She said they had a sub on some of the routes and she would talk to them. The same thing happened again today. I am assuming I will now lose my TR status. I can't afford any dings as I am not a big seller. I will be calling them again in the morning, but that does me no good. It baffles me how they would not take the outgoing mail. 😞
What are the exact percents you are allowed? Also if something sells before midnight does that have to be shipped that next day and validated? Or is it a different time of day?

Your handling time countdown starts when the buyer pays based on California time Zone.
1 day shipping time purchase on Monday before midnight California time would need an acceptance scan on Tuesday before 11:59:59

We have very limited USPS hours. So, say if someone works and they wake up and see that something sold at 2 am Central time, they would need to get that in the mail that day?
I have two packages that were not picked up from my mailbox (on separate days). How will that change my ratings? I had 100%, but only have 198 transactions this year.

You can check on your "seller dashboard".
it will show your stats, and how close you are from the drop back from "top rated".
you can check the "Late shipment rate" %age
and the "Tracking uploaded on time and validated" %age
#'s may not be up to date. You may want to check back.
I do not think the 2 of 198 will be an issue. You would be just over 1%

You truly are not alone with this problem you are having with Post Office personnel not picking up your packages. I take the time every night around 11 PM to file a "schedule a pickup" request with the National USPS site. I always receive a confirmation number in my mail associated with my account with them that I can use to substantiate that I have asked for a pickup. That evidently does not ensure that the item will be picked up. The person on duty at the post office during that time may misplace the request pickup into the wrong carrier's slot. The regular carrier may be off on that day because they have to work Saturday and their sub has a bad attitude and refuses to pickup the packages. The latter has been the case during the month of October for me when I received 15 dings for the simple reason that the carrier did not pickup what was scheduled to be picked up. This is totally unfair to the dealers because we are getting judged on our ability to get all of our packages out within the 24 hour period of time since purchase in order to keep our Top Rated Seller Status. My main question is "why does Ebay continue to assess our performance based on a lack of performance by the USPS carriers who are not doing their jobs? I don't own the post office and cannot supervise these people, nor does any talking to the postmaster solve the situation either. These people are unionized and some of them have very bad attitudes and the postmaster talking to them is like words bouncing off their eardrums and not registering in their tiny brains. I just received a notice from Ebay today that I am being given a "grace period" to improve my statistics after October's fiasco of my normal carrier having been gone and the substitutes failure to pickup 15 packages total. In order to protect myself and my reputation, I'm going to have to make a concerted effort to find some time to stop work and make a trip over to the Post Office before 4PM to ensure that this doesn't happen again. Let's face the facts here...too many people who are working in the public sector do not have to perform except up to minimum standards are it is quite obvious that the Post Office standards have fallen quite low. One final word - Ebay is totally wrong to be judging us sellers on the performance or lack thereof of USPS personnel to pick up packages, scan them as picked up or scan them as delivered, etc. I'm very bitter about this unfairness.

I hear your frustration! I was there too, believe you me!

When what you described happened to me, I came to the same conclusion. Now I drive all packages to the PO, hand them to a clerk and insure that they get a scan and I get a receipt. It kind of changed my business plan, but a seller has to do what a seller has to do!

Actually the problem is that the USPS can not find good people to hire! I have had the same conversations with the Day Supervisor. They get what they get and today, according to DS, "most young people quit after a couple of weeks because the work is too hard!" Yousa!
Me? I recognize what things I can change and what business challenges face me & try to use my head to find ways to adapt and change to meet those challenges. Apparently what has worked in the past no longer works. So how will one adjust? Drop things in the blue box at the PO in after hours? Take then to the window and insure a scan? Use a different shipping service?
I'm sure you'll figure something out! Good luck!
