Shipping Label

I sold 17 books and need to ship them,  when I go to print the label from ebay,  I noticed it was going to print me a label for an envelope. Wants to charge me less than $8.00, charged the buyer $20 some odd bucks. I'm pretty sure I can't use the label if I print it,  seeing as the books weigh 30lbs and most definitely don't fit in an envelope.  I can't find any option to fix this before shipping,  any ideas?

Change the shipping parameters to media mail and package. You do this by: going in to the option to print your label, scroll down and you will see the option to change the method of shipping, weight and size of the package. Next time be sure to use the correct shipping parameters when listing your items. You will probably be ok on this one, but for any other items beside books, leaving the wrong shipping parameters will cost you big money.

Good practice to scale and measure each item at listing.

After combining all items you should be able to edit the package details. Make sure you use the (go button) after entering the last size or it won't change.

You're right, that can't possibly be the right label. Media Mail postage of $22.72 is for a 32-pound package, which sounds about right for your lot.

If you have already purchased the label, you'll have to void it and purchase a new one. Go back to the label purchase page and change the shipping service or weight, whichever was wrong and led you to the $8 label. Make sure that the label you purchase is for Media Mail; I suspect that your $8 label is for a flat rate Priority Mail envelope.

You can void an unused eBay postage label up to 5 days after purchase.

The listing was for one lot of books. The listing description mentioned that the lot weighed 30 pounds and the postage cost shown in the listing was the MM rate for 32 pounds.  So the mystery error lies elsewhere.

If eBay isn't offering Media Mail as an option @burningstar, then you can buy a MM label either at the post office or online at paypal.com/shipnow or at pirateship.com.
