Shipping Label Created, USPS Awaiting Item

I've had a bunch of purchases over Christmas and all of them gave me tracking numbers which updated regularly except for OSM (slow POS service IMO) and then there's this guy.

It's been sitting at "shipping label created" since the 29th. I asked the seller and he told me at 4 am this morning that it was shipped out "today" but I'm still not seeing updates and the package is due Friday according to ebay. I'm a bit worried. I know the USPS isn't perfect but it seems a bit long to wait for tracking.

I can say USPS has been quite disappointing. I’ve had thePO pick up packages that don’t get a scan until the reach their destination 5-6 days later. But you have eBays buyer protection to back you. If you don’t receive your item by the last estimated date of delivery you can file an item not received through eBays Money Back Guarantee.
Hang in there.

Shipping label is created but will not be used until probably January 3. My USPS in San Francisco closed early on the 30th and opened on the 3rd of January and that of course was a big day for reopening after the holiday was closed . It also depends on the weather where this person is mailing the item from. An example, I live in San Francisco, it rained cats & dogs on December 31st and no way was I going out. Today, January 4th, we are told not to drive after 4PM of even a bigger storm. Let's give sellers some time considering how bad the weather is and how bad airplanes are trying to get back to normal from the bad weather. Let's not expect people to mail or work in a storm or tornado or blizzard is all I am saying.

I think I'll wait a few weeks. The estimated delivery date is the 6th.

Feel free to wait as long as you want, but keep in mind that you have only 30 days to open an INR case with eBay.

Your original message seemed like you were very concerned and now you are willing to wait a few weeks?

I would argue that I am concerned enough to make a post about it but I also understand shipping and tracking can be **bleep** sometimes. I will make sure I open a case if I don't see it two weeks after the expected delivery date.

It pays to remember,    Not scanned does not equal not shipped.

I have noticed there sometimes is a difference between the tracking information I see on eBay and the tracking information I see when I go directly the USPS site.  Seems like eBay is not as up to date.

I’ve had this issue a few times when shipping Parcel Select. In those times it showed absolutely no tracking info until right before delivery, and even that was several days past the expected date.

Wait a few days after the 6th.  Before you open a case, check and see if the tracking number shows movement. If yes, continue waiting.  Please keep in mind that the estimated arrival dates are just estimates that ebay put there.  I am in NY and about half of the time, the estimated arrival date to the WEST coast for first class is definitely wrong.  I feel that ebay does this deliberately to get buyers to bid.  First class mail from the east coast to the west coast takes more than 2-3 days.
