Today I was Robbed by ebay for a shipping label. I was overcharged by $7.44. It was a combined shipment of US Stamps in a 5 OZ 12x9 Inch Manila Envelope by 1st Class International Shipment to The UK. When I used the ebay shipping calculator for the combined cost it was $6.34 which is what My Buyer paid from the ebay invoice I sent last night. ebay charged me $13.78 for the label & claimed I had the calculator set for a Letter Envelope & that's why I was grossly overcharged. I told them I would never do that & I know I didn't. I told them that what they claim makes no sense because if that is what happened I should've been undercharged. They refuse to refund the overcharge to my PayPal Account. They said they can only give me a credit on my next ebay invoice. The whole situation stinks & ebay is just getting worse for Small Sellers like me.

Your sold listings for the last stamps sold, if I put in any European Country, comes up at $13.78, give or take .50c depending on the country. Not sure which item it was, but that one seems correct. What was the item#?

I'm just telling you what your listing says; if you knew it was $13+ for 1 item, why would you settle on sending an invoice for $6+? READ WHAT I WROTE....

You weren't overcharged, you were charged for the service that you choose. There are two types of first class international ...one is basically for lettermail (flats) and doesn't have tracking. The other one is for packages and does have tracking and it costs $13+ to the UK which is what you printed a label for. eBay doesn't print labels for first class flats, only for packages. The buyer paid for the service without tracking. On your sell your item form, in the area where it says package TYPE, (in the size and dimensions area) you have to check off package...the forms are different but on mine I see package (thick envelope). If you have large envelope or letter checked off, the calculator will charge your buyer for the non trackable first class. Some sellers do use that to send stamps but then they you address the label themselves and use stamps for postage.
You still have some other items set up as flats such as your purses. They cannot go as a flat so you need to change your package type.

IN THE 16 YEARS I HAVE SOLD ON EBAY I HAVE NEVER SHIPPED ANYTHING WITHOUT A TRACKING NUMBER. TO DO SO WOULD BE FOOLISH. AGAIN EBAY IS TELLING IT COSTS MORE TO MAIL A LETTER SIZE ENVELOPE THAN A 12X9 INCH ENVELOPE. THE INVOICE WAS CORRECT. EBAY IS NUTS!!!!!

You have been told several times how to fix this. You refuse to follow the advice given there is nothing anyone can do to help if you repeatedly refuse to correct the error

@ourancestorsattic In several thousand shipments I have have a handful of labels wind up with the "Envelope" setting in Calculated shipping. There is nothing that I have ever shipped in an envelope, everything goes in a box, even books. I'm not sure how it happens but I do recall seeing that as the default setting in Bulk Editor on several occasions when I have changed a setting in that field but I suspect it may have happened when the listing was first created. Was it my mistake or eBay's? I have no clue but in all likely hood it was my mistake.
You mentioned that you got a credit on your monthly invoice ... that is the same as them putting money in your PayPal account because you will not owe it on the next Billing cycle so that's nice that they did that.
I am wondering why the rep didn't tell you that the over payment would be picked up by the APV system and you would wind up with a credit any way??? I get those occasionally (pic below from this week). If you over pay for shipping and by weight they determine it in the USPS system then eBay credit's you with the over payment.

Also what eBay told you is correct. You're the one not comprehending here. It's not everyone else. The way you set up shipping in a listing determines what the buyer will pay not what you will pay. You have it set up to charge for service that does not have tracking and you configured combined costs on a service that does not have tracking so eBay shipping charged the buyer that. eBay does not provide a label for that service though so when you shipped through them it selected the first class on package that does have tracking that's what you paid for. That's the service you say you want since you want tracking which means eBay didn't overcharge you you set up the listing and combined shipping to undercharge the buyer. Please select first class package as the service and package as the package type. Quit selecting large envelope large envelope does not have tracking.
The only other thing that makes sense is your being obtuse on purpose because you want eBay to change the way this is set up as it is confusing catching a lot of sellers up in it. However if that's what you're doing It's not being successful and it's not going to. You're just going to keep losing money and eBay is not going to reimburse you for it. Set the listing up correctly

..............general reply..................
I have never used the shipping calculator.I charge a flat rate of $5 for 1st class shipping.I have been reading these boards for a long time and just about every day I see the same thing, too many choices in the calculator and people just use the wrong one,its really simple if you pick out the correct choices to begin with but many people do not and insist on blaming ebay.I think part of the problem is choices are available with shipping that can not be purchased online

But those choices need to be available for the sellers who wish to ship that way.

I do understand that the choices need to be available.I think people get confused with options they are not familiar with.the usps retail ground option is only available at the window or counter, yet week after week people keep trying to get the rate thru ebay shipping and its just not offered.

This is what you had on previous listings sold international shipping.
$5.36 USPS First Class Mail International / First Class Package International Service
You are / were way undercharging, the latest amount you paid is correct.
$13.77 is correct up to 8oz.
The 1st class package is entirely different from a letter / envelope.

On a side note: buyers do not need to buy insurance, they have ebay's MBG. You should remove that statement from your listings.
