Shipping Charges

I see that my account has been incorrectly been charged for shipping. Each item I sold has been charged for shipping when I have payed for shipments at the post office. I used the, "print label", function for the first item I sold. The postal clerk said the label was not enough to ship the 35lb item, so, I payed the shipping, $135. I paid for each item I have sold there after at the post office. On my ebay page the items I sold have a noticed that shipping is, "overdue". When I checked on this I was charged another shipping fee through PayPal. WHAT UP!!! Will I be refunded this money?

Re: Shipping Charges

Both eBay and PayPal charge a Final Value Fee on any shipping that you charged the buyer. These fees are charged regardless of how you shipped the item.

Are you uploading the tracking numbers (that you're getting at the PO) into the eBay orders? You must do that.

Re: Shipping Charges

Not exactly sure what the issue is, but, when you sell an item to a buyer, the buyer pays the cost of the item, the shipping price and the state sales tax, if any, to you, the seller.

Then you, the seller, pay for the shipping cost out of the money paid to you by the buyer.

Example:  I buy the widget you have listed for $10 plus $5 shipping.

I pay you the $15.

You use that $5 to pay the PO or UPS for shipping my purchase to me.

eBay's Final Value Fee to the seller is based on the total amount paid to the seller by the buyer.

Re: Shipping Charges

If you printed the label on ebay you would be charged for it either on paypal or through Managed Payments..depending on what your preferences showed on the label. Did you use that label? If not, then it should have been voided so that you weren't charged for it.

As far as being overdue, that sounds like you may not be entering the tracking number so that your items show as having being shipped.

Re: Shipping Charges

It seems as though I was charged a final value amound plus a shipping fee that I payed for myself.  I will have to sort this out before I sell anything else.

Re: Shipping Charges

I sent the tracking directly to my buyers in a ebay e-mail.  I have not seen a place to enter it on the ebay page.

Re: Shipping Charges

You need to upload the tracking on the transaction page.

If you are going to purchase at post office, do not purchase shipping label on eBay.

Re: Shipping Charges

You are always charged for a fvf for the total transaction which is for the item, shipping and taxes.  If you did not purchase a label on ebay you won't be charged for the label but you will still pay fvf on shipping.
