Shipping Calculator Not Accurately Adding Dimensions of Multiple Sale of Same Items.
Example - Item 1 weighs 10 pounds dimensions 10x12x14.
When customer buys 3 of the same item - shipping calculator shows 30 pounds dimensions 10x12x14.
This leaves the seller to either cancel the sale or let the buyer now he/she must pay more.

It adds the weights of each item but I dont think it automatically adds the dimensions as well. Isnt the charge to the buyer higher on the basis of 3 items in the same shipment with what is now a heavier weight?
For the dimensions the theory is that you may be able to combine 2 or more without needing a bigger box. If you do then you would change the dimensions you are declaring in the shipping form to match whatever box you have chosen.
What I HAVE seen it do for a combined shipment where the buyer made one payment is that it will total up the weights as I said - but for the dimensions I found that it appeared to use the largest value for each dimension from the individual shipping specs that I had put in for the separate items. So when one item was in a 10x8x1 padded envelope and another was in a 6x6x4 box the resulting combined dimensions came up as 10x8x4.

It has always been this way. eBay needs to catch up with the times and allow adding of additional dimensions on their calculator, due to 'oversized package' fees, which can add just as much to postage as additional weight does.
The only way to try to make up for it is by selecting 'no discount' and / or 'add handling cost for each additional item', under selling preferences > manage shipping settings > create calculated shipping rules. Then make sure to select 'apply my calculated shipping rule' under shipping details on those larger item, multi-quantity listings. The 'no discount' charges as though each item is shipping individually.
