Hello I shipped an item via FedEx with insurance. The customer sent me pics of damages to one of the pieces in the box. Do I refer them to FedEx to claim insurance damages in shipping or do I have to make the claim? Thanks in advance

You as the seller are responsible for refunding the buyer and taking care of the insurance claim.
If you shipped with your own Fedex account, you can file the claim there. If you shipped using an Ebay label...good luck.

The label was purchased via Ebay. Thank you for addressing my question.

If the box itself was not severely damaged there is little chance to collect any insurance. Not that you can't try. But be prepared to be frustrated.

You refund the buyer, then you file the insurance claim, then hope they pay out.

Goodness I was not expecting these answers. I sent out a $500 Train Set. As per the buyer, the only locomotive arrived damaged. I will refund the buyer after I receive the item back and pray that FedEx pays up. Thanks for the reply.
