Shipped an item to the wrong buyer address and the buyer is not responding now.

On October 4, 2019, I got six orders from. All these six order were placed within an hour and half between 9:29 pm PDT and 11:03 pm PDT. The first order was placed by one buyer at 9:29 pm who bought a single item when another buyer placed rest of 5 orders who bought 18 items through these 5 orders. However, I realized that all the  six orders were placed by a single customer who bought 18 items. After placing all 5 orders, he requested me to send his all stuffs using a single package shipment combining his all 5 orders. Therefore, I printed a priority mail shipping label using the first order which was actually place by different customer at 9:29 pm who bought only one item.  The next morning I shipped everything using that label. After shipping the order, I found that the first order was placed by different customer although till then, I didn't realize I had shipped everything to the wrong address. I contact with the second buyer and requested him to return one extra item. He informed me that it is not possible to return a single item out of that package because he wanted to deliver it to his agent's address. Therefore, he suggested me to send him an invoice for that additional item. He would buy it to minimize the return hassle. This is why, I cancelled the first buyer order on 6th October, 2019 informing the situation and issued him full refund on 6th October.  On 7th October, the original buyer who already paid for all 19 items, sent me an eBay message that he did not receive his package although tracking number is showing it is already delivered and the delivery address is also different. It was delivered to CA when his address state is OR. I checked it right away and realized my severe mistake. Now, all items delivered to that person who paid me nothing since I already cancelled and refunded his money. I am unable to open any case as well in PayPal due to that cancellation. It's been 10 days, I am sending him email and waiting for his reply but no luck so far. On the other hand, I already initiated the refund to the original buyer since he does not want to wait anymore.

 

Is anyone here who could give me any suggestion to resolve this  issue. I know, all this terrible mess happened just because of my stupid mistake though!

The buyer who got all the items is probably not going to pay you for them; nor will s/he probably return them to you. Chances are they are gone.

If you do not have additional (duplicate) items to send the buyer who placed the five orders but didn't get anything, you'll have to cancel his/her orders using the "out of stock" option for the cancellation and refund all your buyer's money. If you have duplicate items you could send him/her, you could do so without further cost to your buyer.

I would say this is more than a stupid mistake.  5 Out Of Stock refunds at once could be the end to a selling career here!

You may say that if you'd like; however, I'm just trying to help a new seller who has posted for the very first time resolve a problem for which they've asked advice.
