Shipments not received

Anyone having issues with packages not being delivered?  2 different packages picked up in November....never to be heard from again.  Showed they were picked up...I refunded the buyer filed claim on one...was paid...the 2nd was 1st class so could not file on that one.  Had another in Dec...kept showing out for delivery...supposedly never delivered...why should I be responsible for PO mistakes?

Today Paypal refunded the buyer and also hit me with a charge back fee of 20.00...

I've been using UPS more....USPS is NOT paying claims....had a package delivered...box crushed...they denied the claim because it said "No damage to exterior package...."

PO is right up there with Politicians, ebay and Paypal....Cant begin to say what I think of all 3...

Incompetence is rampant everywhere these days.

Request reconsideration of the determination.

Take care in packaging your items.  Some sellers just throw their item in a box and expect it to get delivered in perfect condition. If your items are getting damaged or lost you should review how you are packaging your items.  I have been selling on eBay for 20 years with over 10,000 items shipped from eBay and my online biz. I have only had 1 item come up missing, a book. Make your packages visible and package them like you would drop them from the Empire State blg. For small padded bags I use fluorescent FRAGILE AND DELIVERY CONFIRMATION labels front and back. Tape, tape and more tape. Some sellers will print extra small mailing labels or use ink cartridges that are low resulting in poor quality print. I have even seen jewelry sellers mailing items in the small white Chinese takeout boxes.  If your item is not being received in good condition most likely it is because you are not protecting it correctly.  Learn from your mistakes and adjust or you will continue to receive the same results no matter which carrier you use  The Post Office will not deny a VALID claim so I find that hard to believe.  This from a retired Postmaster of 32 years. I have seen it all. If you are mailing jewelry as your ID may imply, be sure that UPS will cover any claims. UPS does NOT cover coins and tangibles.

I thank you for your "Expert" opinion...But I am here to tell you, you do not know everything...

I have packed items for years...(also was shipping manager for years for a company...(my Own) Never had damage...

The packages I have missing are simply errors by some lazy or a thieving soul...When a customer receives a package that looks as though it has been run over by a truck...and that's my fault how????

You sound in some of your info, just like some customers that try to tell you how to pack when they do not even know what a tape gun looks like...

I cannot believe you would even mention the (how to print)..........geeze...

I have had some inspections by UPS and was always told it was packaged well...when a box has visible damage to it sometimes it does damage contents.

As far as missing packages...when the Postal carrier picks up my items they are supposed to scan and usually do...it goes on its way and then all of a sudden drops off the face of the earth.....that tells me there is a problem....and not with my labels.

I had this issue happen to me recently. I shipped a token via USPS and buyer sent me a picture showing the envelope was delivered but the whole lower left corner was ripped off and someone had taken the token inside. Idiots at USPS still deliver it and just simply stamp the envelope saying "package received in this condition".  Total scam, considering that a USPS employee stole the item and then USPS has the nerve to say they received it like this. Do you have any idea what we can do as sellers beside purchasing insurance? In this case the item was only $5 so insurance was not worth it.

I have no idea how to combat this issue.  It is getting worse.  At one time it was difficult to get on with the Post office...now a days they hire anything that can walk.

I actually had a driver on my route for awhile..she drove a pickup and would throw the packages in the back end and throw a tire on top of the packages so they would not fall out. This is the truth...

I had two different instance where a citizen brought packages to my door...one package was lying along side the highway...the man happen to know me and realized it was a package I was mailing...

Another guy brought me a box I was trying to ship....he actually saw it fly out of the truck...

Some people say I should not complain..."most of your items get there"

Shame it is.
