Sending a picture

The item I bought was broken in shipment. Seller wants a picture of the box. I sent pictures of the item broken still in its wrap in my original email. Said she needs this picture to get reimbursed but I’m unable to get the picture of the box to send. What am I doing wrong?

thanks Debra

Re: Sending a picture

I am assuming shipping service is USPS

Pictures are of no use. Seller needs to open a case with USPS and Insurance Co right away. Then you need to take the entire package to Post Office for inspection. That's all! Very simple

Other carriers have similar procedures. However, they might come to you for inspection

Keep entire packaging for inspection please

It's becoming rare for Sellers to buy insurance and without it, it will be hard to collect any damages. But you're covered under eBay's Money Back Guarantee

In case of Seller not having insurance, being self-insured; Seller needs the pictures to evaluate the situation, see the damage and facilitate the return.  Best is to have the Seller call you instead of messaging back and forth. You could come to a solution in matter of minutes

Ask Seller to call you.  Seller has your phone number

Let Seller know a 'damaged while in shipping' case need to be opened with the carrier immediately. We are in holiday season. It takes longer time to solve this issue and collect for damages

Re: Sending a picture

Nobody can tell you that without knowing what kind of error message you're seeing @lovelymsl2. Can you post a screenshot?

If you're really having trouble, ask the seller for their e-mail and send the pics that way. eBay prohibits the exchange of e-mail/phone before a sale, but post-sale it is allowed.

Make sure you save the box, packing materials and item even after sending the pics. Sometimes the carriers will require (as much as 4-8 weeks after the claim is filed) that you turn over all packing materials and the item in order for the seller to be reimbursed through a claim.

Thanks for cooperating with the seller on this. Some buyers say too bad and leave the seller at a complete loss. You're a gold star buyer for doing the "right thing" here.

Thanks! I’m trying to do what I’d do if it was I who  was selling.
