Seller sent me a knock off Lego set.

Hello,

I recently purchased a Lego set from a seller who had advertised the real set. I received the Lego set today and it's a knock off of some sort. My question is, if I start a return, who has to pay for the shipping and will I actually get my money back? The seller is receiving negative feedback from other buyers who claim the same. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If your item isn’t as described, go to My eBay, find the item in your purchase history, and select return within 30 days of delivery.

Your seller is responsible for return shipping when the item is defective or not as described.

Three quick things:

  1. The seller is responsible for return shipping for a return with the reason being that it is not as described in the listing ... you can select the reason such as "Doesn't match photos or description" or "Doesn't seem authentic", and that should do it.  eBay should provide you with a free return label for domestic sellers.
  2. If this is a China seller (sounds like it is), then the seller will not be able to provide you with a return shipping label.  You will need to send them a message as part of the return process telling them how much the TRACKED international shipping is for the return - maybe $50 or 60 -  and they are to provide that to you through your PayPal account.  If they don't give you the money after 3 days, ask eBay to step in and let eBay know that the seller is not accommodating return shipping ... you'll get a refund.
  3. Guess where "OrangeHound" comes from.   Given your eBay name, I'm assuming you can figure it out.  🙂

It's actually an American seller. The thing is, shipping address where the item came from doesn't match the return address. The item came from Washington but the return address is in Colorado. I just want my money back. Also, Go Vols!

The others have answered your dilemma perfectly..

But I got to add to your "Go Vols" message...Today one of my favourite all-time NFL players was a Vol..Robert Ayers is retiring..wouldn't mind coaching at his alma-mater..

I do like the Vols btw..
