Seller mixed up my order with another buyer’s order.

Hi, I do not shop a lot on ebay and need some advice on how to handle this. After ordering an item and it being shipped by the seller, I received a message from him stating - "I mailed you somebody else's package. Would you be willing to ship them the package once you receive it, and I will pay shipping?  The other customer who will receive your order will ship your item to you."  The tracking shows the item is scheduled for delivery tomorrow.  What do I do?  Please help don't want to do something illegal by shipping the package to someone else as stated by the seller. Also haven't replied to the seller or received any shipping label from him.

When you get the wrong item, you should file a Not as Described claim.

The seller can then send you a label and refund you once he has the item bick.

IF he gets the item you wanted back, he can relist it and you can rebuy.

What if the other buyer doesnt send you the item you ordered?

What if they just dont send it OR send you a rock?

Dont get in the middle of the sellers issue.

Don't agree to ship it to the other buyer, it rarely turns out good.

Go to your purchase history and click return item and select, the item doesn't match the description as the reason.
The seller will have 3 days to accept the return and pay return shipping or refund without returning.
If they don't, return to the case on day 4 and ask Ebay to step in.

Have a great day.

You need to file an item not as described case. The seller needs then to issue a paid return label.  The seller has to reship.     Breaking the rules by shipping to the other buyer is risky as they might not do the same.  Also the seller is breaking the rules giving out their address and could get in trouble.

Thank you for responding. I will follow these steps. Upon receipt, should I open the package to inspect if it is indeed the incorrect item as the seller mentioned in his mail or open an item not as described ticket without opening & inspecting the package?

Go ahead and open the package to make sure they did make a mistake and shipped you the wrong item.

Have a great day.
