Seller did not deliver in time as requested

I am talking a engagement ring here - I leave the US for Thailand on November 12th - contacted seller on October 25th about delivery on this purchase - seller said he could deliver in time. Now is November 8th and delivery is set for 4 days away on November 12th - long past my deadline of November 8th and will not have the ring with me during my travel. I have requested a refund on this product because seller did not meet the conditions of the sale ...

What was the estimated delivery date on the auction when you bought it? and was there a service mentioned like priority etc.

When was it actually SHIPPED? If it went out the door promptly then your argument would seem to be with the carrier, not the seller.

Once we turn a package over to the post office what happens to it then is beyond our control. And sometimes even beyond the post office's control.

All U S Mail travels as baggage on U S commercial airliners.

Around this same time due to a storm in the Chicago area 300 airline flights were grounded. Now you may be nowhere near Chicago, but consider the ripple effect. If the planes can not leave Chicago they can not land at your airport. That means that your airport is now short of planes for outgoing flights, and mail deliveries.

Now in fairness is the seller dawdled in getting it out the door then you do have a legitimate complaint against the seller.
