Scheduling USPS package pick ups online.

I recently had to start requesting package pick ups online because of problems with my mail carrier leaving packages behind on my front porch.

For the last week i've noticed that when i try and complete the transaction online, i get the "Processing" bar that keeps going and going and will never confirm the transaction. This happens every day.

So i have to go back and re-enter.

Is anyone else experiencing this?

Scheduling USPS package pick ups online.

I called a friend of mine and asked him to do it for me.  I talked him through it.  It worked fine for him.

I guess it's my browser or network connection or something?

@inhawaii,

  "I recently had to start requesting package pick ups online because of problems with my mail carrier leaving packages behind on my front porch".

Do you know if your regular carrier has been out, or retired and you now have a substitute or a new carrier?

  I haven't scheduled a pick up in years because I arranged an outgoing package signal with my carrier.  She once told me that the info was included in her route notes so subs, would know what the signal was.

What I just found out the day before she retired (the day before Thanksgiving this past year) is that the route notes are on a carrier's scanner. As they approach your address a GPS like voice says arranged signal means outgoing package at chosen location

If I remember correctly I think you have a retail store or maybe a job. If you can try to be at home when the mail is delivered one day, talk to the carrier and arrange some sort of signal that lets them know you have out going packages in a specific place, and ask them to add it to their route notes.  Then you do not have to take the time to schedule pick up from the USPS site.  I use a day-glow piece of card stock that I slip over the outgoing mail flag on my box.  When I had a lift top box on my porch I did the same thing but it had a piece of velcro on it so I could hang it from that box.

Thanks for your reply.

I had a good thing going with my old mail carrier. I made these laminated cards. If i had too many packages to fit in the mailbox, i would put one of these placards in the mailbox and raise the flag. She would know to check the front porch for packages.  So simple.

After that mail carrier left, I would use the same system but there were times when they would totally ignore my placard, pick up whatever mail was in the box and not take the packages on the front porch. It happened 3 times in December. Just plain lazy in my opinion.

I am now requesting package pick up online every night.
