Scammed?

Hello!

So i paid for an item and the next day or sooner the seller just.. It gave me a notification that the seller is away or on vacation? And they won't reply to my message, when i try to get ebay to step in, it says that the item is on my way but it's not shipped so i'm just confused about what could i do? I just feel like asking for a refund which i did but seller won't reply 😞

You will have to wait until the estimated delivery date to pass before you can open a case for Item Not Received. I'm sorry I know it's frustrating but that is what you will have to do. Maybe the seller had an emergency arise which is why he placed his shop on vacation so no further orders could be placed. I do think it's poor communication that he hasn't replied but how much time has passed? Are you giving him adequate time to reply or freaking out immediately and maybe unnecessarily? Is this an established seller or a new seller? Could be anything best thing is just to wait and see. You're covered by EBay's MBG so don't worry too much 🙂

Maybe i am freaking out a bit hahah i'm sorry

And it seems like a new seller i guess? But has 98% positive reviews even though it's only like 237 reviews or so? I still would like to get a refund from this seller though.. i feel kinda safer on this matter so thank you!

Be patient and give the seller a chance to ship.

It that's how you paid, immediately open an Item Not Received at PayPal:

http://paypal.com/disputes

Then go back to Messages, and as soon as it's available --

cluck Escalate to PayPal near the bottom.

But if your seller has tracking showing delivered

You can always repay if your item eventually arrives.

Every seller starts somewhere, it's what the feedbacks state that usually tells you rather they are an upstanding seller or not. Are you sure he put the shop on vacation after your order or was it on there and you simply did not see it? You'll know by you're estimated delivery date as he would have had to bump up his handling time to reflect however long he was to be on vacation. Also with vacation settings I think a seller can opt not to receive communications during that time as they are on vacation and would probably like to enjoy their time off 🙂

Also just because you request a cancellation doesn't mean a seller has to cancel. It is on the buyer to shop responsibly and thoroughly read a listing ensuring that what they are purchasing is what they want. It costs the seller a $0.30 Paypal transaction fee that they do not receive a credit back for every single time someone cancels. While most sellers do cancel when asked I wouldn't make a habit out of it.

You may have missed it, but if the seller was on vaca when you purchased the item, it said that on their listing.  You may have overlooked it.

They may not be responding because they are on vaca.  We are all entitled to some time off for fun and family.  That includes sellers.  Just relax and wait.  There is no need to assume this seller is trying to do you wrong.  Nor is there any need to open a claim yet.  That IMHO would be an over-reaction to something you probably overlooked in the listing.

The vaca setting should tell you when the seller expects to be back.  So I would think you can expect them to ship after whatever that date is.
