Hi I’ve recently sold an item on eBay I have my listings as no returns, this item was listed with pictures and a flaw also mentioned in listing so I believe I’ve listed as honestly as I can, I then get a request for a return saying it doesn’t fit a 12year old (I’m 30,it was mine 🤷🏽♀️) then that changes to wouldn’t fit an 8 year old, it just seems there trying it on, what I’m worried about is If I Decline the return, could they then open a case? I’m sure they will start with something else I take pictures of lol my items again before I send out, just could do with out the hassle, if I’d listed incorrectly I’d of taken it back with out any question but I feel that doesn’t fit is not my error?

Your listings may say no returns, but really all that means is you dont want the item back. If you dont accept a return, you are in danger of losing both item and money.
I would accept that return so the buyer doesnt open up a case, which would cause a defect on your account for not having settled the issue. No returns doesnt mean buyer wont be refunded. Ebay will allow buyer to receive a refund without returning the item should you not settle things with the buyer.
Allow the return, but try to get the buyer to file it under "doesnt fit" so they will be responsible for return shipping since it would be their fault a return is done

Buyer could open a case if you refuse the return....IF they know to do so. They could also open up an INAD case if they know to do that so they wont have to pay for shipping back to you. If they open up an INAD case rather than item didn't fit, then be sure to report the buyer for abusing the money back guarantee

The reason on the return is it doesn’t fit so they would pay return postage then? Or will I get the charge just to clarify thanks

If the jeans return reason was b/c it did not fit, does the buyer pay for the shipping back?
I don't know if that falls under item not as described or just a regular return/did not like.
Thanks for your expertise! 😃

It depends on the seller's return policy.
If they accept returns and shipping is free then the seller sends a return label.
If shipping is not free the buyer pays for return shipping.
If the seller doesn't accept returns and the seller sent the size the buyer ordered then no return can be made. This is called buyer's remorse.

Actually there is no defect issued if a request is opened.
A defect occurs when the seller doesn't resolve the problem and eBay steps in.
If this seller doesn't accept returns then they aren't required to accept this return.
This is a buyer's remorse issue (fit issue).
The buyer can still open a request and say something is wrong and if that happens the seller will need to accept the return.
Defects are only given when a seller doesn't resolve an issue while a request is opened and eBay steps in.

You are asking on the eBay US site.
Log out and go here to return to your home site.
There is an eBay Community there where you can post about this.
The eBay UK site may have different policies (I think the policy regarding this issue is the same).
