Returns, I dont accept returns, buyer lying....

I find it very frustrating when a buyer wants to return an item and they say that the item is not as described and not like in the photos, when the item is EXACTLY AS DESCRIBED AND LIKE IN THE PHOTOS!! They try to make ME look like a liar! The item doesn't fit you and u want a return, PLEASE just tell the truth! Its frustrating that I can't tell MY side. One buyer said the dress was NOT a small as described, when the **bleep** tag inside says....SMALL!  Anyway I accepted the return, but its aggravating that I have to pay the return cost, when I clearly state I DONT ACCEPT RETURNS! all to avoid negative feedback! EBay seems to covet the buyer, and allow the seller to get stepped on. I try sooooo hard to be accurate on my descriptions, even pointing out the smallest flaw!! Its also funny that this buyer didnt contact me directly first, that also leads me to believe that they KNOW they are lying. I wish there was a way to at least leave MY side of the story.....

well actually , YES YOU DO.... the big EBAY letters... they have policies that outweight yours... SO in most all cases ( and yes there are few exceptions) YOU will accept returns....like it or not

It just can happen.

Here is more info what eBay expects from sellers: http://pages.ebay.com/resolutioncenter/BuyerProtectionForSellers.html

Good luck.

Actually.... Not always.

Here is a link to a thread that is a must read for every seller that explains buyer's remorse SNAD returns on no return items:

https://community.ebay.com/t5/Shipping-Returns/Well-here-we-go-again-another-SNAD-claim-Is-there-no-...

The thread is a very long read, but will give sellers a great education on what they are up against.  Pay particular attention to the statement of the eBay rep that weighs in on the thread.

My guess is that if the label of the dress were shown in one of the pictures and with a no returns policy, the OP could have gotten that SNAD closed in their favor.

That having been said, sometimes it is just better for all involved to just accept the return.

The days of buyers contacting sellers before opening a return request is long over.  Don't read into that.

The whole process is streamlined now.  I just went to my purchase history and clicked "Contact Seller" for an item purchased back in May.  And from the list "I want to return this" is an option (not that the seller would be required to accept it as it's over 30 days).

I'm pretty sure had the purchase been more recent, the return link is right in the dropdown.

The Urban Mango dress?  You could probably win it.

You can win that easily but you have to know how and what to fight with.

When buyers want to return an item and there is no other option other than claiming NAD, then that is what they will be forced to choose.   May not be fair but often times the way it goes.   Maybe consider having a return policy?  Just a thought.

Having a "No Returns" policy is a sellers best protection on eBay against fraulent SNAD return. It's all in that thread that Pinups posted.

If eBay is not going to give a discount to sellers who do not accept returns, then they should not force sellers to give refunds. Let the market determine where a buyer goes. If a buyer doesn't like the return policy they have the freedom to buy from a different seller. That's how it should be.

This is assuming the buyer is foolish enough to admit their real reason for return is remorse.    While it certainly happens from time to time, I'd guess those situations are few and far between.    What I do believer is more likely is a buyer simply lying about the reason and seller having no way to prove otherwise.
