Returning items help

I purchased three separate items from a seller who on his page said shipping would be combined. After two requests for adjusted totals I never received a response so I paid the total shipping since in the past when this happened I was partially refunded. But this did not happen in this case.

I contacted the seller and was told to mark the items when they came return to sender. I did not want to do this because I was not sure if there was any way for me to track and make sure he got the items returned.

I again contacted the seller and asked for a partial refund and never received a response. At this point, I no longer want the items, which are not opened and sent in one package. I was going to do a return item process through ebay but saw I would be charged for this. Is it worth the trouble to pay to send the items back?

I would just keep the items. Next time wait for an updated invoice before paying.

Agreed, but I am hearing more and more eBay is demanding immediate payment for fixed rate, even though I checked TWICE to see it had not been changed on my end. Nope, that was not checked as what I wanted. THEN when I refund eBay does not refund the final value fee  for shipping (or same if it is free and I combine). One more way for them to make money.  I was able to combine with auction.

With the new Managed Payments and they dipping into my checking account, I have NO idea how that will work, my CHECKING ACCOUNT does not deal with refunds. sigh. what a mess.
