Return request as seller stated wrong size, but picture showed right size and measurements

Hi,

I sold a dress and put accidentally the wrong size in the description (because normally I am a size 10 and this dress fitted me fine, but is labeled a size 8). However, one of the pictures clearly show the label with "size 8" on it and additionally I put the measurements in my description. Returns excluded. Now, the buyer wishes to return the item as it's not a size 10. I am torn on what to do - clearly, I made a mistake, but the picture shows the correct size and the measurements are in there. So it is kind of both sides who made a mistake? What's the best way to deal with it?

Thanks all for you help! Kat

Have them file for a return stating the item didn't match the description.

You'll have to provide return shipping for the item to be returned.

If it's not worth paying to be returned you can refund and let them keep the item.

Have a great day.

Both the written description and the photos are part of the item description.

Apologize and graciously accept the return with you paying for return shipping.

The Money Back Guarantee protects the buyer in this case. The buyer needs to file a return at which point you can either accept the return or refund without a return as the above poster said. You risk damaging your selling account if you try to fight the return.

The right thing to do is take the return.  Apologize for error, refund you buyer and move on.  Always error on the side of your buyer.  If you make an error, you just need to own it, fix it the best you can and move on.
