Customer requests a return/refund 7 months after sale and delivery. Heck I can hardly remember the transaction. What is protocol on this and will EBay get involved this late in the game? Isn't it too late for them to send negative feedback if they elected to? What is the best resolution for this?

That is way outa wack, no eBay will not force a return and neither will PP since it is past their 180-day threshold as well.
IDK what is in some people's heads thinking there is any way this is gonna happen.

It's to late for them to do anything through Ebay or Pay Pal.
Ebay might let them open a case, but they won't force you to accept the return.
Feedback, they only have 60 days to leave it.

What are they trying to return and why? I would actually consider taking it back if it was something I'd be able to resell. If you sold it once you could sell it again. They would have to pay return shipping and you would deduct the original shipping. Since it's out of the return timelines I might even apply a small restock fee.
I would do this because over time one unhappy customer will complain to 8-20 people to beware of their bad experience. A happy customer will tell their friends. And you'll have a customer for life.

It was a Lot of old dolls that were sold As Is. I think I am just going to let it ride, I have too many other current customers to be concerned about. Thank you everyone for the feedback.

Oh don't do that.

Dear buyer,
I'm sorry, but the return window has closed for these items. I cannot accept a return.
Thank you,
Seller
The buyer can go to Paypal or their credit card. Paypal supposedly allows 180 days to make a claim, but I have over the years seen a handful of reports that were outside that window. Buyers can also go to their credit card, if that's how they paid. The return window for credit cards is 90 days to one year or more, depending on the card.
It ain't over 'til it's over.

I'd bet they bought them to turn for a profit and failed.
7 months is way too long past to be holding the hand of a buyer with a case of remorse. If the transaction isn't over after 7 months, Then will it ever be over?

Block and ignore. Unless it's a one pound gold bar that they bought when gold was $1200 an ounce, in which case I would encourage them to return it for a refund of the original purchase price.

Already done, too many other current buyers to appease and care for.
Imagine if EBay did honor something that was sold over 7 months ago for a refund/exchange.
We think we have issues now with MP and all the other scamming and shady practices that some of the current buyers have going on, we would be in a heap of trouble as a seller.

That's the perfect way to get ebay to refund on your behalf and stick you with a ding.
It shouldn't happen but I absolutely would never leave it to ebay to do the right thing while I wasn't looking.
Refuse the return if you can and if the case doesn't close and go away get on the horn.

eBay is not going to get involved after 7 months.
The buyer can send a message, but they can't open a case on eBay more than 30 days after the item was delivered, so it was just a message. On PayPal, the time limit is 6 months, because some credit cards allow chargebacks for up to 6 months.

ebay already got involved.

Why do you think eBay is involved?
