so recently I bought an item on eBay after it got accepted for best offer, I get sent the incorrect item so I open a return dispute case and everything seems fine I email to see if I will get the item I initially paid for once I return the other item I was sent I was told yes I will
a few days pass and the item arrives back at the seller I then email again to see what the next step is to then be told that unless I close the case I will not be given the item I initially bought And then by closing said case will lose my chance to get a refund directly from eBay after I escalate it to them because I feel like he won't refund me
so my question is with a tracking number showing the item got back to the seller and a picture of the item I received will eBay refund me with the money I'm owed if that's how it works when you escalate it to them?

Hi, you didn't close the case did you? I hope not! If the case is still open, eBay WILL refund you! You've uploaded the tracking number right? Ask them to step in and get your money back! Never agree to a replacement or for the right item to be sent.
