I recently bought an autograph on eBay. When I received it, I did some research and with my experience in the field of signatures, I could tell it was a fake. The seller said returns were accepted within 30 days and I would have to pay for shipping on the listing. I submitted for a return. Within an hour, the seller sent a refund to PayPal. I haven't received the payment yet... It's only been a day. He skipped over the eBay returns policy. eBay said I don't have to return the item. The seller sent the item from Connecticut original. But, he sent me a message and he wants me to return it to an address in Washington. Also, he has not said a word to me accept to provide me with the return address. Even then, he just said, send here. I've never returned anything and this seems like a scam. Help?

I'll sell you my signature..... Cheap
What kind of return did you request?
If the signature was fake and you filed an INAD, the seller would have to pay to return it.
If he has refunded you, it could take a few days to show up, if you used Pay Pal.
If you paid with a debit/credit card, it cold take a couple weeks to show up.
I would wait until the refund shows up and and tell the seller, if he wants the signature back, to send you a return shipping label.

The refund goes back to your original funding source so if you used a credit card or paid from your bank account, it does take time to show up. I agree with the other poster that if the seller wants it back they can send you a return label.

The seller didn’t skip over the eBay returns policy. I don’t understand how you could think this is a scam? When you opened the return request eBay gave the seller the choice of a)sending you a message b)accepting the return & issuing the label and c)issuing an immediate refund. He chose option C. Sellers do this when they do not want the item back and they do not want to pay for return shipping. The refund goes back to the original funding source so that’s where you need to look for the refund.
