I looked at a couple of richard's listings and the older ones show the restocking fee.

I think what is happening here is that the restocking fees were not removed from listings prior to 6/1/18. and I thought I saw some discussion somewhere here that they may still be applicable. If those listings are revised in any way, I believe the software will remove the restocking fees, so advice is "don't touch them!". Any listings posted after 6/1 will not have/can't have any restocking fees.

That's a lot of speculation on my part and may not all be true.

What Trinton said on another thread, is that restocking fees are allowed on purchases made before June 1. I never saw anyone from eBay say that restocking fees were allowed on listings posted before June 1. Guess we need to get that clarified.....makes sense that the purchase date and not the listing date is what determines whether or not a restocking fee can be charged

Actually, it would make sense to me that whatever was posted in the listing when purchased would be the applicable term.  So, if some of these long term listings still show the restocking fee, eBay should allow it to be applied, even if purchased this week.

Re: Restocking fee?

You very well may be correct, and remembering better than I.

Either clarification from Trinton, or feedback here from any seller with a legacy restocking fee who gets a remorse return (one of those should be happening every 5 minutes 🙂

Yes that’s what I said. Or was trying to say anyway!
