Refunds Under Managed Payments

I just got 2 returns today and have been on Managed Payments for almost 2 months. I don't get returns often, so not sure how this works.

I just initiated a refund on one of the items. It shows that Ebay has to approve the refund (it would typically come right out of my PayPal before MP)

WHERE does the refund money come from? Is it from my banks account, PayPal, pending funds under managed payments?

I don't have enough in my bank account to cover both returns, since all my payments for the last week (the Friday before Columbus Day) have not hit my bank yet.

So I got a confirmation from Ebay about the refund... "We've taken care of it, and we'll add the $XX.XX refund to your next invoice."

I'm rather surprised that they stated that they would add it to your next invoice. The way it was presented was that they would first deduct it from your pending payouts and only invoice you for it if you did not have enough funds pending. Though I do not know (and have no need to know!) if your pending payouts are enough to cover the refund(s).
