"I bought an item with credit card in April. Item wasn't as described, so seller accepted a return for a refund.
Item was delivered a few weeks ago. Seller took until the very last day to initiate a refund. He was unresponsive the entire time to my messages after the return process began. Its a seller with only 15 feedback and it looks like he rarely logs into eBay.
This is what the return page shows:
"The seller has initiated a refund of $97.25 to your PayPal account and it should clear within 6 days. If it doesn't, you have until Jun 20, 2018, to open an eBay Money Back Guarantee case."
Now what I'm confused about is that I don't even have an active PayPal account tied to my eBay account currently. So where did the refund go? Seller is still completely unresponsive and I can't even open a case until June 20th!!!"
Above was my initial posting.
Now since then, as of yesterday, my return case automatically closed. I have no option to do anything. When I wanted to "open a case" because I did not receive my refund in the timeframe mentioned, the button was always grayed out. I could not click it at any point on any internet browser. What the hell is going on? Where is my refund? I waited for it to process for a while now.

Ignore the PayPal mentions.
The refund goes back to your credit card --
via PayPal, the company, not your PayPal account.
Find that payment on your April statement; call your card issuer:
File a chargeback using the reason goods returned, refund not received.

I will also say that the "Ask eBay to step in" button was NEVER THERE.
Where do I go from here? The dates eBay posted on the return page are completely wrong. The page is horribly coded too.
They gave me a PayPal transaction of the refund. The transaction points nowhere. I have no money in any account. I've waited almost two weeks now for the refund to post.
I also have a message from eBay about the refund.
"Hi xxxxx,
The seller accepted your return of Men's sz 10 ADIDAS NMD R1 BOOST 'Triple White' running shoes, and refunded you $97.25. It should be available in your PayPal account.
You can view details of this return on eBay."
First off, I paid for this via credit card. Not PayPal. Second, I checked both my PayPal account (which has no valid card linked to it) and my credit card statements....NOTHING. eBay needs to address this immediately.
