Received wrong item. Advised Seller and they said “USPS mixed up the labels. Send it back and I’ll send you the right item”
ummm...,I’m not responsible for paying to ship back their mistake, right?

Click "Resolution Center" or click below.
https://resolutioncenter.ebay.com/
Under "I bought an item."
Check "I received an item that does not match the seller's description."
Click "Continue".
This will get the process started. You will not have to pay to ship the item back. Ask for a full refund. Do not accept an exchange.

Just to explain further, I looked and it appears they sold the item I received to another buyer the same day. The packages were in fact mixed up. It’s not a matter of exchanging for like item. The other person probably got my purchase. I bought a sheet of worbla but received an air soft BB gun with CO2 cartridges. Lol

How could USPS mix the labels? The seller puts the labels on the box. Sound's like they don't want to take the blame.

Right. They screwed up.
I just want to make sure that I can tell them to provide a return label for incorrect item

Interesting
Seller seems to be suggesting that he/she did absolutely nothing wrong, USPS is to blame, & the return shipping cost should then be on you or USPS & not the seller ?
The seller is responsible under ebay's money back guarantee to provide a prepaid return label, Open a request for item not as described

I have worked for USPS since 2000, and been here on eBay since 2004.
There is no way USPS mixed up the labels. WE DO NOT PACK OR LABEL ANYTHING.
File a SNAD and request a return label through eBay, you will at least get a refund without being out the cost of return postage (that is on the seller).

Ok so now what do I do? I got notification of refund but the seller seems to have no clue. See attached screen shot of communication. Start from bottom

Did you actually get a refund already? Then tell seller that if they want their item back then they need to send a shipping label. Stop talking back and forth otherwise. USPS wont take the package back as refused if its been opened. Plus you lose buyer protection if tracking says you refused the shipment. Keep things as simple as you can.

It's true that you can refuse a package and have USPS return it (I have no way of knowing if UPS does this) BUT, The package must be UNOPENED. Once opened it must have a new label and postage. Also only Express, Priority and First Class has free returns, other classes of mail will have return postage collected upon the return.

Thanks for all your help!
So, I've received my refund, but I'm still in possession of the wrong item. Seller has not sent me any more correspondence, nor a shipping label to return it. Just hold on to it until something happens?
His last correspondence told me to ship it, save the receipt, and he would deduct it from the price of my item..... which I already got a refund for. LOL I can't believe this person has such positive reviews!

Say you paid $100 ... and received a wrong item.
You never got the correct item. You pay $10 to send the wrong item back, and save the receipt.
So now you've spent $110. And when the wrong item arrives back, your seller deducts $10 from the price of your item, and refunds you $90.
Does that math sound right to you? Return shipping should always be an additional payment, not a deduction from anything.
