I've been a very long time buyer on eBay. I believe I've sold things maybe 5 times in 20 years. Nothing in the last 5 years.
At any rate, I just received 2 "returns" from 2 different people across the country. These are not items I've sold, and I'm at a loss to explain why they have my name and address. It's on the return label, which was printed by eBay. Inside both packages was a packing slip showing item #, order #, return #, buys name, item description, and reason for return.
Has anyone heard of this before? If it's some sort of scam, I don't see how I'm on the hook for anything? I just contacted eBay, who said the "return id's were not in the system", but would investigate further. I didn't sense any sort of commitment from that. I will be returning both items tomorrow to the PO as refusing the shipment, although I did open each package not knowing what was inside, so we'll see how that goes.

Since you opened the packages, you must now pay postage to return them. Why do that? Just throw them in the trash if you don’t want them.

Sound to me like your ebay account has been hi-jacked and somebody is selling using your ID.
Looking up the item # shows the actual seller's ID, so how is the @beguy eBay account hi-jacked [sic]?

Take the item number and replace the xxxxxx with it in the above url. That way you can find the seller. See if it's an ID you recognize, or someone you've bought from before.

Only thing I can think of is a previous tenant or owner of where you live now was/is an eBay seller; they haven't updated their return address.
