Quick question?

Hello everyone. I have a Item I shipped to a customer 3 weeks ago. The item arrived oct 24th and the USPS says the item is oversized and tried to deleiver twice. The customer has not responded to any emails. The problem I have is that I offer free shipping that cost 20 dollars to Nevada. I see the USPS has started a return label which I will probably have to pay for return shipping to me here in Jersey that will cost me another 20-25 dollars. How does eBay rule on situations like this if the customer wants his money back? I would be out around 45 dollars in total shipping. Thanks for helping with answers.

Quick question?

Not clear what you are saying.  Was the item actually delivered to the customer?  Did customer open return request?   If customer opened return (what was their reason).  Need more information to answer your question.

Quick question?

" USPS says the item is oversized and tried to deleiver twice."

We need more details about the problem.  It sounds like USPS tried to collect Postage Due and the buyer refused to pay it, so the package is being returned to you? What were the dimensions of the package in this case?

USPS charges a "dimensional weight" for any package over 1 cubic foot (1728 cubic inches) which is being shipped via Parcel Select Ground, Priority Mail, or Retail Ground.  If you package was above that threshold, and you only paid the weight-based postage cost, then there could have been significant Postage Due.

When a package is returned to sender, there is no additional postage cost if the original postage was via Priority Mail.  If the package was sent via Parcel Select Ground, then you will be asked to pay for the original Postage Due plus the return postage cost, which will have the same surcharge as the first time.

Quick question?

When an eBay buyer refuses a package because there is Postage Due, eBay policy says that they are entitled to a full refund.
