Question on shipping for Irish folk

Hi guys,

I recently won an auction, seller dispatched items and now he informed me that the package was returned to him (from his post, not mine) with a reason that they don't ship to Croatia due to Covid situation. He offered me a refund, but I want the items

I asked him to wait for 10 days, then try again, cause I want those items and I'm not in a hurry, but it's still weird cause I've been getting packages from UK, Portugal, China and last one from Germany yesterday. 

Any sellers from Ireland that got their sent packages returned from their post with similar experience? Just curious to see if that's an unfortunate isolated case or if that's normal nowadays.

I have to repeat, it was dispatched on 14. April, now it's 15. April, so that was yesterday. It's obvious it was not declined by croatian post, but it rather from Irish post office.

Being located in the USA I'm not familiar with any restrictions that might have been placed on shipping location by Ireland or your country.  Perhaps you may have better luck posting on the UK boards or contacting your country's postal system.

Oh, ok, thank you. I was redirected on this forum, didn't even realize I'm not on co.uk anymore.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's not my country since this package was dispatched yesterday and returned today so it couldn't possibly even reach Croatia in less than 24 hours. And also, last 4 packages arrived on time in the last 3 weeks, so I doubt Croatia has any restrictions imposed on packages.

I'm in Ireland. Yes, it's a problem with a whole lot of countries now being impossible to ship to. You can read the list (it's regularly updated) on this page:

That helps, thank you. Got a similar answer on UK board today, with addition that it's strange that post would return the item to seller a day after dispatch and that it might be that seller wants to back out from selling the items for lower price than he expected.

We'll see, I told him to wait for 10 days, but now I'll check this list regulary. I can wait, it's not a problem, I would just like to get those items in the end, whenever that might be.
