Question about refunding a purchase.

I was scrolling through my purchases recently and didn't realize that my previous purchase wasn't refunded. I purchased a monitor and the seller's account was closed and the item was deleted. I thought I was going to get a refund by default or whatever, but it never happened. I found out recently after scrolling through everything. I suppose I cannot do anything anymore since it's long past 8 months? The seller still has his account.. the item is deleted and I can't even contact the seller about the item because they deleted the item.

It would be nice to learn something new after making a big mistake months ago and not paying attention.. Any replies would be greatly appreciated.

I didn't lose too much only about $28.99.

If the seller's account is active you should be able to send them a message, even if you can't make a direct reference to the item beforehand. If you have any supporting information like IDs, include those.

If they can't or won't help, it can't hurt to open a help ticket with ebay support. You might be right, the time elapsed may be too long, but it doesn't hurt to ask.

I thought so. Thank you all for the replies anyway. I tried disputing it on paypal but it got instantly denied anyway. I'll just make sure to pay attention more.

If you paid with a credit card, you might get them to do a chargeback.  It depends on their time limits.

I think it is highly unlikely that any credit card would allow this 8 months after the fact.  Most CCs have a 90 day limit on filing a chargeback.
