This is the first time I have used the "exchange an item" option with a buyer. A very sweet older man bought a dryer control board off of me. The day he recieved the board, he called me and told me he ordered the wrong board, BUT we have the correct board he needs so could he exchange it. They both were the same price, so I said sure. I accepted the exchange offer on eBay. I recieved a message he sent the board back this morning....Well, a bit ago,the customer called and left me a vocie mail. . He said after looking at the correct board it seems that one will not work either.Assuming at this point I need to refund him. Before I call eBay, I was wondering is this something I can correct myself?

At this point you do NOT need to call eBay. Doing so could actually get you in trouble. When the package arrives, just refund the buyer's money and use "buyer's request" as the reason.
