Quality of Ebay branded polymailes went down the drain

What's going on with the quality of Ebay branded polymailers? It went down the drain for the past year.

Over the years, I've purchased these polymailers multiple times, and for the last year, each new batch seems to be of lower quality than the last. They are so thin now and more prone to tearing and poor adhesion. The last order I got was the worst yet. The bags are tearing apart in my hands while I'm packing! I use my seller's discount plus pay extra. But thinking now, that it's time to stop doing this. Do you still buy branded polymailers or buy anywhere else?

eBay switched over to compostable polymailers which are thinner. My experience with the new compostable ones was the opposite of yours - I found the adhesive to be strong and the mailers to be pretty sturdy - tugging them did not produce tears. It takes significant pulling or over-stuffing for me to stretch the material.

Either you're over-stuffing them or you got a bad batch. If you got a bad batch you should contact the seller with photos of the problems and ask for an exchange. They're pretty receptive to quality issues.

idk about the poly mailers, but the bubble mailers had also noticed a decrease in quality, where the bubble wrap inside is much thinner. I did just get new batch in idk 3 weeks ago now, and they seem to be much better like the older ones, but previous 3 orders got were not so great. However... I do not use them to mail anything, I simply use them to line edges inside box for cushioning between inside tray and box so don't much care either way.

I got a whole batch of polymailers that tore down the sides when I used them to pack - whoever was at the machine must have been hungover that morning. They were not the compostable ones, which are pretty sturdy.

But they're getting too expensive - I don't get the free perk gift of discounts on mailers, so there isn't that to knock down the price.

That's exactly what happens! They split along the seams on the sides. That's crazy!

Quality of boxes has gone done too. Each corner now has a hole where the cardboard doesn't meet. The postal worker committed on it, said spiders could crawl in the package. I had added tape to each corner but frustrated that the cost went up and the quality went down.

The ones I bought were a large size and I just didn't want to spend a lot of money replacing them, so I ended up taping the side carefully together with clear packing tape, trying to make sure that there wasn't any sticky tape exposed on the inside. It was a real pain. Some I just pitched.

And yeah - the boxes don't all come together, either with those little holes on the corners.

So, for boxes I continue to re-use clean Amazon boxes. I curb surf on recycling days and rummage in people's recycle bins lol, and a couple of neighbours save their clean boxes for me. People see me out there on the side of the road and just think I'm that crazy woman who cruises around on her mountainbike towing a trailer. This last time I actually found a nice pasta maker with all the parts, and some clean packing materials.

I've had that problem with almost every single box order since they launched these supplies several years ago. It's not a new problem.
