I frequently sell small items that I ship USPS First Class Package. Awhile ago, I noticed erroneous information on the shipping page for those items. The page clearly states that you can ship items First Class Package up to 16 ounces. If you ship this way at all, you know this is false. The limit on First Class Package shipping is 13 ounces (as the "cheerful" postal service worker will tell you if you take it to the counter). The 84" combined total is probably wrong also, but I've never shipped anything that size that doesn't weigh over 13 ounces, so I've never worried about it.
I notified eBay "Help" on this about 6 months ago. I try to avoid calling eBay help for any reason as I have an aversion to stupidity. (OK, that was rude. To all the hard-working, intelligent and capable eBay CSRs, I apologize. But there aren't a lot of you.) I thought that they might want to know about this false information. It took me quite awhile to get the CSR to understand that I didn't have a listing with a problem. I told her it was a problem with the eBay website over and over. I assume she probably just gave up and said she would report it. Otherwise, why would it still be showing after all this time?
Does anyone know how to get information like this to eBay WITHOUT going through CSRs?

The labels you buy on eBay are the "commercial rate" labels for First Class and allow up to 16oz for the FC rate. If the post office counter person is saying otherwise they are mis-informed. Point out to them that the label is a commercial rate first class label and allows up to 15.99oz. If they still object ask for the post master for that PO.
If however you go into the post office and buy the label you will be restricted to 13oz and you will pay the retail rate which is 10-15% more than printing the label on eBay.

@no.no.nelly Actually that information IS correct. There was no reason to contact customer service, there is no erroneous information, no false information. Customer service was not stupid, not this time. You CAN ship first class up to 16oz when postage is purchased online. It appears you missed both ebay and the USPS's January 2016 announcements about this--https://community.ebay.com/t5/eBay-for-Business/The-January-2016-USPS-Rate-Change-What-You-Need-to-K...
If you purchase RETAIL postage at the counter, then the RETAIL limit is still 13oz. So ebay's information IS correct. They sell COMMERCIAL postage and the limit is 16oz.

As the others have explained, 15.999 ounces IS the weight limit for First Class packages when postage is purchased online at the Commercial rate. This commercial weight limit has been in effect since January 2016. You can see the prices and weight limit for this service in the official USPS rates publication, Notice 123.

However, the length-plus-girth limit of 84 inches IS incorrect. See section 8.3.2 of the Domestic Mail Manual, below. Not much of an actual issue, though.

Well, thank you (and the other person that replied) for that information. Too bad the CSR couldn't have given me the same info. Would have saved me some money.
