Problem with resolving return of an item

Hi,

 

I have recently purchased an item from a seller on ebay. The item sent to me was not the one described and I have made a return request. 

 

The seller first made an argument that the mistake was made by me, but after I have told him that I will ask ebay to step in, and explained with photos that he has made a mistake, he accepted the return and even tried to send a return shipping label which he was unable to do for some reason.

 

After that, he contacted me to ask me about shipping costs from my country. When I told him what the lowest shipping cost would be, he sent me a message that only if I return the product I will get a re-deliver or refund for the item.

 

Now I am in a position that I can't contact ebay to step in to solve the case because the case itself seems to be solved as the seller accepted the return, and it seems that I am stuck with return shipping costs because the seller did not give me an option to cover return shipping cost, which is approximately the same price as the item itself.

 

This is the first bad experience for me on ebay .

Problem with resolving return of an item

If your seller is in a different country than yourself it is impossible for them to buy a label.

 

The seller would typically send the money through paypal before or after the return is completed.

 

Ebay cannot force the seller to send the money after and on occasion will cover the shipping themselves as a courtesy.

 

You will have to call this in, they may give the seller more time to negotiate with you or they may take care if it right then and there.
