Problem with lost item in Moscow

I sold a some  jewelry to a woman in Russia. Item was mailed and tracking shows that it got to Moscow but never delivered to buyer. She contacted me and I advised her to contact her Post Office and have the item tracked. She asked for all the details of the mailing which I provided. Apparently there is a  language barrier problem as she kept insisting that I was trying to scam her as I would not provide the details of the sale. I told her to just give the tracking to the PO and they should be able to find her package. She more or less could not or would not do that. .  She used abusive words to me calling me "uneducated" and "ignorant"  and she told me she was a lawyer.  Finally after 2 months she filed a case with ebay and I was forced to refund her. I had called ebay and they initially told me to do nothing until she tracked her item. Once she filed a case I had to refund her or ebay would. This was sold first class international, so I believe there is no insurance. Was this handled correctly by ebay and do I have any cause to fight this. I know I am angry because of the buyer. I had no problem giving her the  money back but I think she could have done more to resolve this for herself. I told her if she gets the package, she needs to repay me. Any words of wisdom for me?

@boomersbiz46

1. Turn Russia off for International shipping.  If your international first class package label states jewelry on the outside of the package that's like saying "Steal me" in some countries.

2. Add the Buyer to you blocked list

3. Hopefully she has not left you negative Feedback and if it goes long enough she will not be able to

4. If the package eventually gets delivered, which I doubt it will, she will not repay you any money ...

Thnks for the comments.

I forgot to mention that I have sold about 10 lots of jewelry to Russia in the last year and have had no problem receiving nice feedback etc.

Yes I blocked her and ebay assured me if I get negative fb they will remove.
