The customer bought and paid for my item. The specified shipping was USPS ground and calculated to her home for $23.48, which she paid with a note that she wanted it changed to FedEx which would be $16.25. On PayPal I can only ship UPS or USPS. I was also advised by two members of the community to not go outside of e-Bay/PayPal to ship this. I even offered to refund her the $7 through PayPal, but she complained that this is just a money making thing for them and she didn't want to do this. After going through several e-mails over two days I flat out asked if she wanted me to send it with the original shipping or did she want to cancel. Now she wants me to send it USPS Parcel Select which, when put into PayPal comes out to be $57.94. She gets more and more beligerant, demanding and degrading with each e-mail. Can I just cancel this sale if this continues? I would appreciate any suggestions on how to handle this!

How did the price jump from $23 to $57??
EDIT: The listing had the weight-based rate for Parcel Select; the $57 is the 20-pound "balloon" rate, apparently due to the actual package dimensions having a length-plus-girth over 84 inches.

I have no idea why that price came up so high. The package weighs 5 1/2 lbs, is 36" long and 5 1/4" in diameter. Actually, the USPS Parcel Select didn't even ask the deminsions, just the weight.
Any idea on how I should handle this? Can I cancel this order with no repercussions or problems from e-bay as I have spent hours searching on how to save her $7 and I've had it.
Is she trying to pull a scam--such as my shipping it and then her pulling her money out or complaining to e-bay over $7.00?

USPS ground? You mean UPS?
I would not downgrade the shipping regardless of what service you use.
did you go into eBay labels and see what the cost difference would be if you shipped fedx ground? I am betting she wants Smartpost but that would be downgrading the shipping time and I would not do it. Play with the eBay labels and you will see parcel select is also size based. Even UPS uses dimensions so you need to double check the costs you orignally got, they may be wrong.
I think I would email them the costs of all similar services and tell her that your costs for fedx are about the same as ups. Ask if they want to cancel and if you do the cancel with buyer requested you won't get dinged for it.

If this is for the vise, your listings say that you will send the item with USPS parcel select ground which I think others have said is the same service as USPS retail ground. I don't use USPS so I'm just going by what I've read.
It sounds as if you just entered the weight on the listing so that's how the total was calculated. But once you went to print the label you entered the dimensions too and if the package was oversized the rate was based on the size of the package, rather than the weight. If that is the case, it is your mistake that the customer paid less for shipping than the actual cost and it's your responsibility to send it parcel select for the price that you specified. In other words, you would be out the difference. If the customer really wants you to ship the package using Fedex, it might be worth your while to check out their cost however, they probably will charge extra for the oversized package too.

Just ship it. You have no valid reason to back out. That's not big enough to incur the balloon rate, it should ship for the regular weight-based rate ($23.32). You must have made an error with your dimensions on the shipping label page. Don't select "Large package."

With the dimmentions you quoted USPS Priority (retail) would be $25.25 to zone 8 and $24.19 for Retail Ground.

The OP said, "Now she wants me to send it USPS Parcel Select..." That's the shipping method that's shown in the listing, so apparently the buyer has fnished being unreasonable and just wants the item shipped via the original stated shipping method.

Thank you. She originally paid so I will ship it as listed.

I think I know which item it is, for my zip it comes to $23.32. At first, I thought that you had given any buyer options to pick for shipping, which that listing does not. Buyers cannot ask for anything more or less than what was offered in the listing (insofar as I know). If she wanted a quote on shipping via FedEx, she should have asked prior to bidding and not after the fact.
I had a rather large shipment going to Australia and when I went to print the shipping label, there was no option to ship via the method that I quoted to the buyer, only Express ($30.00+ more), so try creating the label via eBay and see if that makes a difference in the cost. In my case, I was in a rush and did not want to wait to change the shipping so I took the hit. In your case, however, the shipping was listed and that is what she should pay.
Good luck!
