Greetings,
Item: 176696739505
I had sold this item which arrived to the buyer broken.
I have been going round and round for month's with USPS.
The USPS paid 100 maximum indemnity and says I did not have insurance.
I show a transaction breakdown of 20.86 for label and 10.43 for insurance.
I was charged and paid the 31.29.
I have no idea what I'm missing or where to turn.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Are you sure you paid for USPS insurance? Not ShipCover? The cost of the insurance you paid based on the price of the item seems it was ShipCover not USPS.

Hi @maven152 . Track the package at USPS.com. At the bottom expand the product information section.
If you see what's in the below screenshot, that means you only had the standard $100 included and you purchased additional coverage with ShipCover.
If you don't see mention of $100 and just see "Insured" then you purchased the insurance with USPS.
If you purchased with ShipCover you'd need to file a claim with them except, this is from Nov 28?! Wow, that's way past the window to file a claim, I'm sorry to say. In fact, USPS tracking has probably expired already.
ShipCover claims need to be submitted within 90 days. I wish you came here months earlier asking for help!
Actually, I see you did come here back in December (link) and a few of us advised you about filing the claim with your insurance purchase point and a link to file with ShipCover was provided.

I do have a claim with USPS as I believed that was the default insurer.

When you purchase insurance on EBAY that policy goes through company called ShipCover (this has nothing to do with USPS). ShipCover is very good on paying out for damaged goods.
On eBay, we offer ShipCover insurance when you buy and print USPS labels on our site. Items shipped to most countries can be covered, although there are some exclusions.
Go to ORDERS, SHIPPING LABELS (click on ACTIONS and select FILE CLAIM). File out the claim form. You'll receive an email confirmation about your claim, including the policy number, claim amount, and claim number.
With ShipCover claims, keep in mind:
If the buyer reports they didn't receive the item or opens a return request because the item was damaged in shipping, we use that information to verify your claim.
However, if the buyer doesn't report an issue, they may need to verify your claim by responding to an email from Parcel Insurance Plan (PIP). If the buyer doesn't respond within 15 days, PIP sends you a reminder to get in touch with the buyer and ask them to confirm the claim.

Great advice @caldreamer . If only the seller followed that advice when you provided it more than 4 months ago they could have filed the claim. Unfortunately they let the 90 day window to file a ShipCover claim elapse.

I have never used Ship cover insurance ,I paid for USPS insurance . I remember on the old power seller boards had number of threads from sellers back then complained about these same issues as the OP.
