Maybe a dumb question. When I buy a Priority Mail label, it will sometimes say '2-Day Priority' or '3-Day Priority' or even more. I don't chose that. I assume USPS calculates that. Is that correct? Is it dependent on distance or how many mail processing hops they calculate it needs to get to the customer? Some items to rural Texas, for example, seem to bounce around Texas quite a bit until it's delivered.

You got it.
The 2-day, or 3-day is based upon the USPS best guess expected delivery time.
My last 2-day Priority made it in a blazing 6 days.

Likewise! It's just an estimate which can be waaaay off. Today I got a package with a label that said "2 day". But it had been mailed on November 25. IMHO USPS should just stop announcing a number of days on the label.
